The MSI Netbook stems from it's Wind models, which stand for “Wi-Fi Network Device,” and they were first introduced in 2008. Currently there are both 8.9 and 10.1 inch screens available for purchase. In essence, the Wind was developed to compete against other rivals in the space like HP and Asus, both of which have their own successful netbook lines.

01/11/2010 MSI Netbook Unveils Two Touchscreens.

CES has been a huge staging platform for a number of different firms looking to show off their latest and greatest, and MSI is no exception. They recently demonstrated two MSI Netbooks that utilize LCD touchscreeens. If that's not enough to tickle your fancy, they can also be turned on their side to serve as an ebook reader! Not a bad piece of hardware eh? MSI will also be showing a dedicated e-book reader of it's own, which will sport a Google Android based operating system.

MSI has continued to develop various models with different specifications depending on price, size, power, and speed. Their price range runs from $299 to $429, and average weight of 2-2.6 lbs, which is pretty standard fare when lined up against competitors. Still, MSI netbooks have earned quite a reputation, winning a number of Editor's Choice awards from the likes of PC Magazine, Laptop Magazine, and Computer Shopper.
